Board of Fire Commissioners

Serving Our District

Role of the Board of Fire Commissioners

The business and affairs of the North Collier Fire Control and Rescue District are conducted and administered by a Board of Fire Commissioners elected by residents of the District.

The five-member Board of Fire Commissioners serves as the policy-making body for the District. The Board sets policy, approves the annual budget, levies taxes and provides direction and guidance to staff.

With overall responsibility and authority for the operation of the District, the Board ensures that the District’s purpose, as set forth in its Enabling Act (PDF), is properly carried out.

The Board employs the Fire Chief who is directly responsible to the Board, and who has responsibility for and authority over all departmental personnel, property and activities of the District.

Board members have an obligation to act only on what is believed to be in the best interest of the District.

Board Meetings

The Board of Fire Commissioners meet monthly with Staff at publicly held Board of Fire Commission meetings.  The meetings are held at Station 45 located at 1885 Veterans Park Drive, Naples, FL 34109.  Agendas for all meetings are posted one week in advance of each meeting.
