(December 20, 2018) Each year, Local 2297 collects thousands of toys for their charity Angela’s Angels honoring the memory of past District employee Angela Coffey who worked as Administrative Assistant from 1999 to 2011. The toys and gift cards collected are given to local families who can use a helping hand during the holiday season. This year, the toy drive assisted more than 22 of our community’s families who will all pick up their gifts on Saturday, December 22nd.

We are so grateful, first, to our dedicated CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) volunteers who donate their time every year to wrap the thousands of gifts.

And, we must also thank all of the local communities and civic associations who assisted in the toy drive including The Quarry Golf Club, the Wyndemere Womens’ Golf Association, the Sandollars of Naples, Get Hooked Custom Fishing Charters, Mr. Tony Giles of the Mediterra Community Association and Ms. Cynthia Goff.

NCFR Santa & Elfs

NCFR Elves Ramona Martinez and Kim Crawford assisted Santa with collection of gifts as well as coordinated the entire toy drive this year from the outreach to families to the sorting of gifts and gift pick-ups by the families. Thank you Ramona and Kim!  And, thank you Santa!
