North Collier Fire Control & Rescue District, established January 1, 2015.

Sending all the love and healing thoughts to the Fort Myers Fire Department firefighter that was injured earlier this evening. This evening the City of Fort Myers Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire where one of our own was injured.

At approximately 6:00 p.m., crews responded to 3830 Arlington St. after multiple reports of smoke and flames coming from a home. Upon arrival, crews went to work ensuring all occupants were safely out of the home and quickly began fire attack. Crews encountered heavy hoarding conditions, which made accessing the seat of the fire difficult.

During operations, one firefighter suffered 1st & 2nd degree burns, and was taken to a local area hospital. He is in stable condition at this time and is being transported to the regional burn center. He is in good spirits, accompanied by his fire and personal family.

Fire was called out at 7:29 p.m. and the State Fire Marshall has been notified for investigation.

Please keep our family member in your thoughts and prayers.

Tank had so much fun yesterday with @ionamcgregorfire and the Girls Empowerment Camp they held, called Camp Braveheart 💜 The camp is lead by female firefighters from across SW Florida (even a couple from St Augustine and Minnesota) and shows young ladies about the role women play in the fire service.
The other goal of the day is to provide an environment to nurture the self confidence so these girls can reach their full potential.

Thank you to everyone at Iona McGregor Fire for inviting us to participate. It’s always one of our favorite days of the year !!
