Fire Plan Review & Inspections

North Collier Fire Control and Rescue District is a leader in public safety for its residents, business owners and visitors. The main responsibility for the Life Safety & Fire Prevention Division is to coordinate and conduct fire and life safety review/inspections throughout the District for new and existing building projects.

The District’s well-trained Fire Plan Examiners work out of the Collier County Growth Management offices, allowing for hassle-free transition of plans to and from the County and the District. The plan review process includes pre-planning, review of the site plan, structures, roadway access for fire trucks and water resources for the development.

Life Safety review/inspections are based on several factors including the building’s size, intended use and occupancy numbers. These factors help determine the design of exits, fire alarm and sprinkler system requirements. Fire prevention efforts continue for the life of a building and include required annual, triennial or other periodic inspections.
