Ben VanKlingeren is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a Master’s degree in Accounting and Taxation. He brings more than two decades of accounting and financial management experience to North Collier Fire Rescue, with a background well suited to the needs of an independent special district.
Prior to joining the District, Ben served as Director of Finance and Regulatory Compliance for a non-profit health center in Fort Myers, where he was responsible for financial oversight, compliance, and reporting.
Ben previously worked for five years as Finance Manager for Lehigh Acres Fire Rescue, an independent special district similar to North Collier Fire Rescue. During that time, including the most recent economic recession, he played a key role in stabilizing the district amid significant declines in ad valorem revenue.
His professional background also includes five years as a government and non-profit auditor with Tuscan & Associates, the auditing firm for North Collier Fire Rescue. In that role, Ben conducted audits for both North Collier Fire and its predecessor agency, North Naples Fire.
