About Life Safety

The Life Safety and Fire Prevention Division of the North Collier Fire Control and Rescue District supports the District’s all-hazards response mission by focusing on prevention, planning, and public education. By identifying and addressing unsafe conditions before emergencies occur, the Division helps reduce risk, protect lives and property, and improve survivability when incidents do happen.

The Division is staffed by a dedicated team that includes the Fire Marshal, Fire Inspectors, Fire Plan Examiners, and Public Education Officers, all working collaboratively to promote safety throughout the community.

Services include:

  • Fir plan review and inspections for new and existing buildings;
  • Fire investigations;
  • Annual and periodic life-safety inspections;
  • Pre-incident planning;
  • Special event permitting and inspections;
  • Community Risk Reduction program management;
  • Fire and injury prevention education;
  • Water supply distribution review and fire hydrant acceptance;
  • Crowd Manager certification; and
  • Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training.
