Annual Budgets

Like most independent fire districts, the majority of North Collier Fire's revenue is generated through property taxes.

Each year, the Collier County Property Appraiser determines the taxable value of properties within the District. Based on those values, the Board of Fire Commissioners sets the annual millage (tax) rate. Under the District’s Enabling Act(PDF, 314KB)(Chapter 2015-191, Laws of Florida), the millage rate may not exceed:

  • 1.0 mill ($1.00 for every $1,000 of taxable value) in the North Naples Service Delivery Area; and
  • 3.75 mills ($3.75 for every $1,000 of taxable value) in the Big Corkscrew Island Service Delivery Area.

Established in 2015, these two service delivery areas reflect the former North Naples and Big Corkscrew Island fire districts. Separate millage rates will remain in effect until voters of both areas approve a single district-wide millage rate.

The District’s fiscal year runs from October 1 through September 30.
