Training Division Mission

The Training Division is committed to enhancing the knowledge, skills, and abilities of District personnel through a balanced approach that integrates research, operational experience, and education. Guided by the core principles of Honor, Service, and Pride, the Division develops personnel not only as technically proficient firefighters, but as ethical professionals and future leaders.

Comprehensive Training & Certification

The Training Division delivers a comprehensive portfolio of instruction designed to support operational readiness, safety, and professional growth. Training includes required certifications and advanced coursework such as:

  • Pump Operator;
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC);
  • Live Fire Training; and
  • Officer Development and Command-Level Education.

Career Development & Succession Planning

In addition to technical training, the Training Division has established a structured career development framework that supports organizational continuity and leadership development. Clearly defined career progression pathways span both Operations and Fire & Life Safety disciplines, including:

  • Firefighter Recruit;
  • Driver/Engineer;
  • Operations Lieutenant;
  • Operations Captain;
  • Operations Battalion Chief;
  • Fire & Life Safety Lieutenant;
  • Fire & Life Safety Captain; and
  • Fire & Life Safety Battalion Chief.

Modern, Scenario-Based Training
