Deputy Chief Michael Jimenez serves as Deputy Chief for the North Collier Fire Control and Rescue District, overseeing the District’s Operations Division, which includes fire suppression and rescue services. Having served with the District since 2001, Chief Jimenez brings extensive institutional knowledge and operational experience to the role. His leadership approach emphasizes decisive, collaborative problem-solving and sound decision-making in support of emergency response operations.
Born and raised in Miami, Chief Jimenez completed firefighter training at the age of 21 and was immediately hired by the District as a Fire Inspector, a position he held for three years. He later transferred to the Operations Division as a Firefighter, advancing through the ranks to Battalion Chief of Training.
As Battalion Chief of Training, Chief Jimenez managed the day-to-day operations of the District’s firefighter training academy for ten years. During his tenure in that role, the academy was recognized by the State of Florida as Fire Training Center of the Year in 2015 and 2018. In his current role as Deputy Chief, Chief Jimenez continues to provide executive-level oversight of the training academy, which again received Fire Training Center of the Year recognition in 2025.
Chief Jimenez holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Safety Administration.
