Crowd Manager Certification

Does your establishment require a crowd manager?

The Florida Fire Prevention Code requires places of assembly to have at least one (1) crowd manager or crowd manager supervisor. A place of assembly is defined as any occupancy where 50 or more people gather for purposes such as worship, entertainment, dining, drinking, meetings, amusement, or similar activities, including special amusement buildings. Examples of assembly occupancies include:

  • exhibit and meeting halls;
  • conference rooms;
  • theaters;
  • restaurants, bars, nightclubs;
  • golf clubhouses;
  • Bingo halls;
  • tents and air-supported structures.

What is the purpose of a crowd manager?

  • Crowd managers ensure that everyone entering an establishment stays safe.
  • Crowd managers control groups of people at clubs, conventions, and other gatherings, and ensure that facilities are equipped to handle such crowds.
  • Crowd Managers verify that life safety equipment is in service and ready to act if needed, including fire alarms, fire sprinklers, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting and exit signage.

How can I become certified as a crowd manager?

Attend North Collier Fire Rescue Certification Class

North Collier Fire Control and Rescue District periodically offers Crowd Manager Certification classes to promote life safety in places of assembly. These classes provide practical training to help staff recognize hazards, manage occupant safety, and respond effectively in the event of an emergency.

Class Details

  • $30.00 per person.
  • Certification is valid for three (3) years.
  • Basic fire extinguisher training included at no additional cost.
  • Pre-registration preferred.
  • Walk-ins accepted, but may be limited due to class size.

2026 Class Dates

  • Thursday, May 21, 2026 (9:30am – Noon)
  • Thursday, August 20, 2026 (9:30am – Noon)
  • Thursday, November 19, 2026 (9:30am – Noon)

Schedule North Collier Fire Rescue Class On-Site at Your Location

North Collier Fire Control and Rescue District offers on-site Crowd Manager Certification classes for businesses and organizations within the District. This option allows our instructors to conduct training at your facility, providing convenient, practical instruction tailored to your specific occupancy and operational environment while promoting life safety awareness.

Class Details

  • $30.00 per person.
  • Minimum three (3) attendees.
  • Certification is valid for three (3) years.
  • Basic fire extinguisher training included at no additional cost.
  • Pre-registration preferred.
  • Walk-ins accepted, but may be limited due to class size.

Attend Online Certification with Ricky Rescue

Crowd Manager Certification is also available through an approved online course offered by Ricky Rescue. This flexible option allows participants to complete the required training at their convenience while reinforcing life safety awareness and emergency preparedness principles.

Class Details

  • $15.00 per person.
  • One (1) hour online course.
  • Ricky Rescue Training Academy is approved by the Florida State Fire College Bureau of Fire Standards and Training.
